Product Description DECT is a cordless phone protocol that has been very popular in Europe for nearly a decade. The FCC recently adopted this technology for use in the USA. It makes sense. Range not as good as expected August 18, 2008 Andrew So We like most things about this phone with the exception of the range. Although most reviews seemed to suggest that this phone has good range, we found otherwise. We have a pretty small one story home, and we placed the base station on side. If we take the handset to the other end of the house we don't get any reception. Maybe we configured something wrong, but we haven't found a solution.
Good reliable phone -- need more intuitive menu features August 17, 2008 Wynne Wong (Columbus, OH United States) I've had this phone for 3 months and find it to be a great and reliable phone. Calls are clear and I like the fact that you can have additional handsets that are caller-ID equipped. I have voicemail so I never used the anwering machine. The belt clip is handy and the headset (purchased separately) come in handy when I want to continue with housework and talk on the phone with friends at the same time. The downside is that I don't find navigating through the menu options very intuitive. On my old cordless phone, to view my caller ID, I just hit one button and keep scrolling to view each number. On this system, I have to find the "caller ID" option in the menu, then hit "ok" (if you forget to hit "ok" you will move to other menu options) and then scroll to see the numbers. On my old phone, when I view a caller-ID number,I can call that person back simply by hitting "talk" button and it will start dialing. I could do this even with long distance numbers with different area codes. My old system automatically dialed the 1 for me for different area codes and if I wanted to save that number to my phonebook, the 1 would automatically be there. Not with this system. On this system, if the # on my caller-ID is long distance with different area code, I cannot hit "talk" to call back b/c the 1 is not dialed for me for the different area code. I have to go the menu, find "phonebook", hit "ok" to select that feature, and then look for the number (make sure when you program that number into your phone, you include the 1 for different area codes). In sum, this is a great phone but needs a more intuitive menu system. If you don't mind scrolling through menu option and hitting "ok" each time, it's not a problem.
Panasonic KX-TG1032S Dect 6 August 15, 2008 MRVIC This product has been great so far. The only problem happened twice when I attempted to call home and got only the answering machine with no ring. We had to unplug the Panasonic KX and plug it back in. No more problems after this. I hope this isn't a normal occurrence.
Panasonic Cordless August 13, 2008 B. Schroeder (Wisconsin) This is a good telephone for the money. My only complaints - I wish the volume for Talk would go higher than it does. The Speaker function allows a higher volume, but not the Talk function. For the money this is a good purchase.
Excellent phone system August 12, 2008 VZ (CA United States) The phone system was very easy to install and configure. The battery life is exceptional on both handsets. The reception is what I expected: no drop outs and the range is great indoors and outdoors.
