Product Description The Daring Book for Girls is the manual for everything that girls need to know -- and that doesn't mean sewing buttonholes! Whether it's female heroes in history, secret note-passing skills, science projects, friendship bracelets, double dutch, cats cradle, the perfect cartwheel or the eternal mystery of what boys are thinking, this book has it all. But it's not just a guide to giggling at sleepovers -- although that's included, of course! Whether readers consider themselves tomboys, girly-girls, or a little bit of both, this book is every girl's invitation to adventure.

Great gift January 7, 2009 Mrs.Mack I got this for my cousin (she's in upper elementary school) and it was a hit! Her mother was also excited about the opportunities to read the book together (my cousin is half-Japanese and doesn't read English very well yet). I got the boys book for her brother and encouraged them to read each others' books, which they seem to like the idea of. Lots of fun things for them to do together!
Better than video games January 6, 2009 S. Blauvelt (Springfield, MO USA) My niece was thrilled with this book. I bought it because kids don't play, explore and/or know how to anymore. As a science teacher I'm constantly telling my students to get outside and get to doing something even just observing stuff around you. Not enough of this is done with video games, cell phones and mp3 players. Kids are losing the ability to think and reason from these "dummy" toys. Help them explore the world around them and get these kinds of books and games!
Perfect for any girl, young or old December 27, 2008 M. Davis (Washington) I bought this book for my niece for Christmas. I thumbed through it before wrapping it and fell in love with it. I can't wait until my boys are old enough to get the male counterpart version. My husband was so impressed with the book, he even wants to read it with her. It's the perfect gift for a young lady, something they can read and learn from on their own or with mom, nana or aunt. A true classical wealth of information every girl should know.
Another anti-male propaganda November 27, 2008 Jimmy Delgado 5 out of 20 found this review helpful
Here we have a book that was given permission by the writers of the Dangerous Book for Boys to write a version for girls. Nothing wrong with that. Now when you look at the back cover this is what's written:..."here is the no-boys allowed guide to adventure". Yet they manage to turn another innocent book for girls into a gender war! "oh no, you don't need this boys; how dare they!". What has this world come to. If you cannot write a book celebrating girlhood and innocent playtime without picking on boys/males/men then don't waste our time with this anti-male brainwashing propaganda! these writers are a total hogwash.
Daring Book for Girls November 2, 2008 Angela G. Johnson (Atlanta, GA USA) I purchased the "Daring Book for Girls" for my daughter. She loves looking at all the interesting things to do. She takes it to school and talks about geography or whatever else pertains to what they are studying.
