Product Description No matter where you go, enjoy peace and quiet with the MDR-NC22 Noise Canceling headphones. These compact and comfortable bud-style headphones can reduce noise by 75% (12dB at 200 Hz) and the 13.5mm driver units produce powerful sound. Perfect for tuning out noise at work, traveling, or even when you are trying to sleep in a loud environment. The noise canceling circuit actually senses outside noise with built-in microphones and sends an equal-but-opposite canceling signal to the headphones. Additional features include an in-flight adapter, compact battery box and it even comes with a carrying pouch.

Great sound for the price, comfortable buds August 27, 2008 Coffee addict (Minnesota) Works great. Only complaint is that the battery compartment is a bit heavier than I would like. The cord is not long enough to clip it below the waist
noise suppresion ear buds August 24, 2008 Joel C. Hart The ear buds are a snug fit even with the small adapters, they are a little unconfortable. The sound is great and we found the noise reductuion (with or without music) very good. I would compare them to the Bose full cover headphones. They are less bulky and easy to travel with. On the upper deck of a 747 to S. Africa for 12 hours we could barely hear any sound at all. Great product. The new version also has volume control. We should have got the volume control version. Great sound and great noise reduction.
Sony Noise Cancelling Earbuds August 6, 2008 Neal K. Matsunaga The Sony MDRNC22 earbuds are much more convenient to use than headphones, especially in the economy section on a plane. They cancel much of the background noise, but not enough to make it seem like all the noise was cancelled. The price was reasonable for the performance received and would recommend the produce to others.
For the money the best there is May 23, 2008 S. K. ElGeneidy (Boston, MA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I recently purchased these headphones to replace my regular old earbuds for my mp3 player. These are problably the best investment I've made in a while. I ride public transportation every day, and with these I eliminate 70% to 80% of the noise on the train. On planes they're perfect. I was a little weary at first a lot of others have complained about the backgound white noise. I barely noticed it even between songs. When the music is off you can hear it, but then again why are you wearing earphones if you're not listening to something. I also found that I can hear speaking pieces too, like television, and comedy without drop off or cranking the volume. The three sets of earplugs should cover you pretty well for size and it has a fairly decent battery life. The only downside that I have is that the battery case is a little heavy and can be awkward to clip on somewhere if you don't have a shirt pocket or something similarly placed. Overall an excellent investment.
Not too shabby May 20, 2008 Laura A. Williams (Monmouth Co, NJ, USA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Headphones were quite comfortable. I like earbuds, but had yet to find a pair that fit comfortably. These fit the bill. As far as noice cancelling quality, I would go as far to say they are decent, but not great. If you are truly looking to tune out everything else, head to the higher price ranges (and perhaps the headphones that make you look like an air traffic controller). Overall I am pleased. I would recommend these to someone looking for a decent pair of headphones. For noise cancellation, again, I would shop around a little more.
