Amazon.com Product Description Worn by Michael Phelps while winning seven medals at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, the Speedo Speed Socket is an excellent swim goggle for competition swimming. The low profile design offers great peripheral vision and the polycarbonate lenses are coated with anti-fog protection and block 95 percent of UV rays. The tight hugging lens gaskets have a hypoallergenic comfort-fit seal and the silicone headstrap is double-length for a more secure fit. It comes with three nose pieces to ensure a comfortable swim and avoid water intake. Speedo's line of Competition swim goggles are designed for the serious competitor. Made from the highest-quality materials available, their low-profile design will give any swimmer the competitive advantage. About Speedo In 1914, Speedo was founded in Australia by Alexander MacRae, a 22-year-old Scottish immigrant who arrived in the country in 1910. The company began when MacRae Hosiery manufacturers, established by Alexander in 1914, extended the manufacture of underwear to swimwear and became MacRae Knitting Mills. A naming competition was held by the staff in 1928 and won by a Captain Parsonson, who coined the slogan, "Speed on in your Speedos." In 1929, the first swimsuits were in production and it didn't take long for Speedo to successfully establish itself. World War II caused the brand turn over 90% of it's manufacturing to war production, providing the armed services with vital equipment such as mosquito nets. After the war, Speedo opened a new factory and was able to re-establish itself, due to increased demand for swimsuits. In 1951, Speedo Knitting Mills (Holdings) Ltd, was incorporated and became a publicly traded company on the Sydney Stock exchange. Speedo hit the international stage in earnest, at the 1956 Melbourne Olympic Games, and a few years later the brand grew on a more global scale. Export sales to the USA began and an international division was set up to monitor trade in New Zealand, Japan and South Africa. The expansion of the brand continued, and in 1976, Speedo was appointed as the official swimwear for the 1976 Montreal Olympics, where 52 out of 54 countries wore their swimsuits. Speedo continues to make its mark in the pool and on the beach today. Many world class athletes who wear Speedo include U.S. phenomenon Michael Phelps, legendary Australian swimmer Grant Hackett, world record holder Kosuke Kitajima from Japan, and Holland's Inge de Bruijn. What's in the Box? Speedo Speed Socket swim goggle, three interchangeable nose pieces, hard plastic carrying case, printed instructions

The best.... September 16, 2008 Floyd Goodrich (Alta Loma, CA USA) Very nice goggles. No leakage and they fit comfortably. The nice dark mirrored lenses are great out in the sun.
Work great! September 11, 2008 Justin M. Schwerling Goggles work great! No water leakage, not even in ocean swimming! The goggles are really comfortable as well.
Fits well to face; no leakage; made in japan September 2, 2008 A. Liao 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Got these to replace my last goggles which were leaking and strap broke. Definitely a quality product, made in japan. Use an anti-fog spray with it and it will last for many uses. One drawback is that it leaves circles around the eyes that last for awhile after taking them off. Would not recommend going out on a date immediately after swimming with these.
Great Goggles August 1, 2008 Jeffrey O'donnell (Mannheim, Germany) The goggles are terrific. They really keep the sun and glare away and provide very clear views underwater. They are a little hard to adjust though.
FINALLY! Goggles That Are Worth The Money!! February 3, 2008 Shopaholic Extraordinaire (Upper Michigan, USA) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Oh thank GOD! I have spent literally hundreds of dollars on every goggle out there on the market, looking for one that will actually fit my narrow face (and by extension, my 9 year old son's narrow face!), and finally, we found the Speed Socket. My biggest problems are getting goggles not to take on water, and not having them "flip" when I dive in. These are made such that they don't fit around the eye socket, they fit inside the socket, and as such, I have not had a single problem whatsoever. My son is a very competitive swimmer with a powerful butterfly. On his fly, the combination of the surge and the turn of the head to breathe pulls at goggles, and they have just never stayed well on his narrow face. He too loves the Speed Sockets, and absolutely refuses to wear anything else. Hooray for Speedo! Hooray for Speed Sockets! Hooray for the end to the looooooong search for something that works!
